The Infant Jesus, the Holy Child Jesus, is the patron of Infant Jesus School and the source of inspiration for its name and values. The Infant Jesus symbolizes innocence, humility, love, and simplicity, reminding us of the dignity and importance of every child.

Inspired by His teachings, the school believes that children should be nurtured with care, respect, and guidance. The Gospel message, “Let the children come to me”, reflects the school’s commitment to child centred education that combines learning with moral and human values.

The patronage of the Infant Jesus encourages students to grow in kindness, honesty, discipline, and compassion. It also reminds teachers and students that true education develops both knowledge and character. Guided by these values, Infant Jesus School strives to shape responsible, caring, and value-oriented individuals for society.

The history of Infant Jesus School, Raichur is closely connected with the long-standing educational mission of the Bellary Diocese Board of Education (BDBE), a registered society under the Mysore Societies Act No. 17 of 1960. For several decades, the Diocese has been actively involved in providing inclusive, value-based education across North Karnataka, with a special focus on serving children from diverse social and economic backgrounds.

The educational journey of the campus began in 1991 with the establishment of the Infant Jesus Group of Institutions, starting with a Karnataka State Board school. The institution was founded through the visionary efforts of Fr. Antony Puthenkalam and Fr. Sebastian Kulathinal, who recognized the need for accessible and meaningful education in Raichur. Their vision was to create an institution that combined academic learning with discipline, moral values, and social responsibility.

From its early years, Infant Jesus School earned the trust of parents and the local community through its consistent academic standards, caring environment, and commitment to character formation. The school gradually grew to serve students from different parts of Raichur city, becoming a dependable institution for generations of learners. Emphasis on basic education, discipline, and value-oriented teaching laid a strong foundation that continues to guide the school today.

Over the years, Infant Jesus School has remained faithful to its original mission while adapting to changing educational needs. The school continues to follow the Karnataka State Syllabus, offering education from Kindergarten to Class X in English and Kannada medium, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.

Today, Infant Jesus School proudly carries forward its legacy as one of Raichur’s established educational institutions. With the continued support of dedicated teachers, committed management, and the local community, the school remains focused on shaping students into knowledgeable, disciplined, and responsible citizens.

The emblem of Infant Jesus School reflects the institution’s commitment to education, values, and holistic development. The circular form of the logo symbolizes unity, continuity, and inclusiveness, representing the school’s service to students from diverse backgrounds.

At the centre is a shield, signifying care, protection, and a secure learning environment for every child. The Cross represents moral guidance and the values that inspire the school’s educational mission. The open book stands for knowledge and learning, while the lamp with flame symbolizes enlightenment, truth, and wisdom. The ink pot and pen highlight discipline, creativity, and the importance of expression and learning through effort.

The laurel branches denote growth, achievement, and excellence. The motto, “Nobility in Thought, Word & Action,” expresses the school’s philosophy of shaping students to think positively, speak responsibly, and act with integrity. Together, the elements of the emblem represent Infant Jesus School’s dedication to nurturing responsible, value-based learners.
